Kari Samantha (born April 28 in 1967) Wuhrer is an American singer and actress. Wuhrer started her career when she was a teenager. She is best known for her character Maggie Beckett on the TV show Sliders, as well as as her character, Sheriff Samantha Parker, in the horror comedy film Eight Legged Freaks. Wuhrer was raised at Brookfield Connecticut as the daughter of Karin Noble who was employed as a pay clerk as well as German American Andrew Wuhrer. The youngest of three children. She started singing at nightclubs as a teenager and often would leave her house to sing. After studying acting at the Wooster School from 13 years old she studied drama in the New York University's Tisch School of the Arts located at Marymount Manhattan College and Columbia University.
